Hard rock heavyweights Tool have confirmed the first four dates of a fall U.S. tour, starting Sept. 6 in St. Paul, Minn. From there, the group will hit Madison, Wis. (Sept. 7); Noblesville, Ind. (Sept. 9), and Rosemont, Ill. (Sept. 10). Additional dates are expected for the trek, which will last into October. No support act for the first four shows has been announced, but experimental rock outfit Fantomas is due to join the tour from Sept. 22-Oct. 7.

As previously reported, Tool will on Friday (Aug. 3) begin a two-week tour with progressive rock veterans King Crimson at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colo. The group is out in support of its latest Volcano album "Lateralus," which is No. 36 on The Billboard 200 in its 10th week on the chart. The single "Schism" is No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
