News on the turnover rate of songs at No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100.

LIGHTSPEED: The turnover rate for pole position on The Billboard Hot 100 is just slightly slower this year than it was last year. Alicia Keys has the 10th No. 1 hit of 2001, as "Fallin'" (J) succeeds Destiny's Child's "Bootylicious" (Columbia). At this point in 2000, we were on the 12th No. 1 hit of the year, "Incomplete" by Sisqo. But we are even with the year 1999.

Two years ago this week, Christina Aguilera had the 10th No. 1 hit of the year with "Genie in a Bottle." Coincidentally, Keys is the first solo female artist to have a No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 her first time out since Aguilera did it with "Genie."
