Teen pop act Dream Street will appear Thursday (Aug. 23) in Saugus, Mass., to kick off a back-to-school campaign with StudyWorks! Online. The event -- taking place at the Square One Mall beginning at 2 p.m. -- is being staged to emphasize the importance of learning math and science, something all five members of the group can identify with, as they each attend New York public high schools.

In addition, Massachusetts' Governor Jane Swift will be on hand to declare the day "Back-to-School on Dream Street with StudyWorks! Online Day" in the state. The event is being staged in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Education, local radio outlet KISS 108-FM (WXKS), and Houlihan's restaurant. Fans can enter a contest to win VIP passes to meet the group via a contest on the KISS 108 Web site.

Dream Street's self-titled debut Edel album peaked at No. 37 on The Billboard 200, and has sold 146,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.
