U.K. electronic duo Basement Jaxx has unveiled plans for a fall North American tour, kicking off Sept. 29 in Denver and running through an Oct. 20 performance in New York. Group principals Felix Bunton and Simon Ratcliffe will be backed a full live band, dancers, and "exciting visuals," according to a statement. The duo completed a six-date North American DJ tour last month.
The act will be out in support of its latest Astralwerks album "Rooty," which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart last month. The set features the international hit single "Romeo," which reached a new high of No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart this week.
As previously reported, "Rooty" is nominated for the U.K.'s Mercury Music Prize alongside such albums as Radiohead's "Amnesiac," PJ Harvey's "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea," and Super Furry Animals' "Rings Around the World."
