Outkast leads the nominations for the U.K.'s sixth annual MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards, to be held Oct. 4 at the London Arena, Billboard Bulletin reports. The LaFace/Arista duo is nominated for best hip-hop act, video, album, and single. Craig David, Destiny's Child, Missy Elliott, and Usher received three nods each.

Outkast and Elliott are in contention for the best hip-hop act honor along with Ja Rule, Moots Manuva, Nelly, and Eve. Usher, David, and Destiny's Child will compete with Sisqo and Damage for the best R&B act trophy.

Public voting in 15 of the event's 18 categories opens today (Aug. 30) via the MasterCard-sponsored event's official Web site. Only one vote per person is allowed.

The awards ceremony will be hosted by Kelis and Trevor Nelson. Confirmed performers include Usher, So Solid Crew, and Mis-Teeq. The U.K.'s Channel 4 will broadcast the show two nights later at 10 p.m.
