Courtney Love will play her first-ever solo show on Oct. 27, opening for Jane's Addiction at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. According to the official Web site for Love's primary band, Hole, the artist will be backed by ex-Hole drummer Patty Schemel and other as-yet-unnamed musicians.

For now, this is the only such show Love plans to play, but the Web site says, "other dates are currently up for consideration." Numerous conflicting announcements have been made regarding the support acts for the Jane's tour; U.K. techno/rock act the Prodigy were said to be opening three dates but have since dropped off the trek. Rapper Mos Def was also initially set to appear.

Live, Femi Kuti, and Stereo MCs will open various shows on the tour, which begins Tuesday (Oct. 2) in Worcester, Mass.

Meanwhile, Love still plans to record an album with the new side project Bastard, which originally featured herself, Schemel, Veruca Salt's Louise Post, and Rockit Girl's Gina Crosley. The latter two members exited earlier this month, although the Hole site says the Bastard demo is finished and being shopped to labels.

As previously reported, Love is embroiled in a bitter lawsuit against Vivendi Universal, in an attempt to dissolve her contract with Geffen Records.
