Weezer has confirmed 13 dates for its Extended Midget tour, which, as previously reported, will feature fellow modern rockers Jimmy Eat World and comedy rock duo Tenacious D in the opening slots. The tour will start Nov. 13 in Portland, Ore., and in its first week include make-up dates for two California shows that were canceled in September.
In other Weezer news, "Island in the Sun," the second single from the group's third, eponymous Geffen album, has been released in the U.K. in two versions. Version one includes the original video for the track plus two b-sides, "Oh Lisa" and "Always," while the second version includes two different bonus tracks, "Sugar Booger" and "Brightening Day." The band has reportedly written over 30 new songs since the June release of "Weezer."
"Weezer" is currently at No. 81 on The Billboard 200 in its 22nd week on the chart, and has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of over 1 million copies.
