Country artist/actress Reba McEntire will host the 20th annual "Christmas in Washington" event, set for Dec. 9 at the historic National Building Museum in the nation's capital. The event will feature performances by Tony Bennett, Charlotte Church, and Mandy Moore, along with others yet to be announced. President and Mrs. Bush will be among the honored guests at the ceremony.

The AOL Time Warner-sponsored event will benefit the Children's National Medical center, and will be taped to air Dec. 16 as an hour-long special at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the company's TNT cable network.

Following a successful run on Broadway in "Annie Get Your Gun," McEntire has found acting success as the star of her own WB sitcom, "Reba." The new show has been called the WB's first breakout hit, and is currently the network's highest-rated half-hour program. It has already been renewed for the 2002-2003 season.

Earlier this month, McEntire's latest album, "Vol. III - Greatest Hits: I'm a Survivor" (MCA Nashville), debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and No. 18 on The Billboard 200. The title track rests No. 7 after 17 weeks on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
