MTV is sponsoring two Christmas-themed contests next month, with artists as far apart musically as 'N Sync and P.O.D. buying holiday gifts and personally presenting them to winners.

MTV will send five 'N Sync fans to Orlando, Fla., for three days to exchange gifts with the teen pop group in the "Secret Santa with 'N Sync Sweepstakes." Starting today (Nov. 20) and running until Dec. 19, fans can log onto MTV.com and describe what would be an ideal gift from one of the five members. One grand prize winner will get to pick four of his/her friends to bring along on the trip, which an MTV spokesperson says will happen before Dec. 25.

The five winners and 'N Sync will trade Christmas lists and swap names to see with whom they'll be exchanging gifts. MTV will then tape the shopping sessions to air later in the month. 'N Sync will spend $10,000 on the grand prize winner and $5,000 on the four friends.

Meanwhile, MTV2's "Yule Be Bangin': 12 Days to Play" contest will give fans of Southern California group P.O.D. the chance to get various music-related prizes delivered personally by the band.

Through Dec. 16, MTV2 viewers over the age of 16 can enter the sweepstakes on MTV2.com. Over the course of 12 days, 12 winners will each be given a prize (among them a portable electronic DJ kit, digital cameras with MP3 players, and a high-speed CD burner/walkman). One grand prize winner will receive all 12 prizes plus a Nintendo Game Cube and an autographed P.O.D. catalog delivered personally by the band during their Youth of the Nation tour.
