With albums from Eve, Jadakiss, and DMX all making noise on this year's charts, it was only a matter of time before the entire Ruff Ryders family reunited for "Ruff Ryders Vol. III: In the 'R' We Trust," due Dec. 18 on Ruff Ryders/Interscope. The set also features appearances by Petey Pablo, tha Eastsidaz, and Ludacris, among others.

"We'd like 'Volume III' to be as successful as 'Volume I,' so we went back to basics but with some new additives, of course," says Ruff Ryders president/co-CEO Chivon Dean. "We have yet to decide on the first single, but we're leaning towards the Jadakiss and Bubba Sparxxx track ["They Ain't Ready"]."

The label's previous two compilation releases, "Ryde or Die: Volume I," and "Ryde or Die: Volume II," debuted at No.1 and No. 2, respectively, on The Billboard 200.

Dean notes that in addition to "Volume III," 2002 will also see upcoming projects from the L.O.X., Styles, and Drag-On, and the debut set from new Ruff Ryders affiliates Infa-Red & Cross. Indeed, understanding the importance of branching out, many in the Ruff Ryders family, including DMX and Swizz Beatz, have recently inked imprint deals of their own.

"You're going to see all of us back and forth on each other's albums," says Dean. "Eve is shopping a label deal, and so are the L.O.X. They should definitely go on and do other things because the lifespan of a rap act is usually three albums, maybe four. We encourage them to do that so they can keep something going, instead of just fading away."
