Alicia Keys leads the field with seven music-related nominations for the 2001 NAACP Image Awards, to be presented Feb. 23 in Hollywood and broadcast March 1 on Fox. Keys picked up nominations for outstanding album for her J Records debut, "Songs in A Minor," outstanding new artist, and outstanding music video for "Fallin'," among others. Michael Jackson picked up six nominations, followed by Jill Scott with five.
Other multiple music nominees include Aaliyah and India.Arie, with three apiece. The NAACP Image Awards encompass 41 total categories in music, film, TV, and literature. Winners are chosen by voting from 300 industry members and NAACP officials.
