The concert is set for Sept. 29 at Verizon Wireless Music Center in rural Noblesville, outside Indianap olis. It will be the event's first return visit to Indiana since 1990.

"I'm proud that, after 16 years, Farm Aid is still viable and thriving," Mellencamp said this week. "It's a true testament to Willie Nelson's tenacity that it's here this year in I ndianapolis."

Farm Aid has granted more than $15 million to farm and rural organizations throughout the United States since it was established in 1985. As previously reported, the first Willie Nelson 10K for Farm Aid race, set for Oct. 10 in Austin, Tex as, will also raise funds for the charity.

Last year's Farm Aid concert, held in Bristow, Va., featured performances from Nelson, Young with Crosby, Stills & Nash, Mellencamp, Barenaked Ladies, and Alan Jackson, among others.
