Britney Spears has been tapped to perform her single "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" during a Feb. 9 National Basketball Association (NBA) television special. Set to air at 11 a.m. ET, "NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration" will originate in Philadelphia and will be broadcast by NBC, TNT, BET, Nickelodeon, and NBA.com TV in the U.S., and MuchMusic in Canada.

Hosted by Ahmad Rashad and Summer Sanders at the Philadelphia Convention Center, the hour-long show comes as part of NBA All-Star 2002, three days of events leading up to the 51st Annual NBA All-Star Game, which will be broadcast Feb. 10 on NBC, and on various networks around the world.

In addition to performing, Spears will become a member of the NBA All-Star Reading Team, which is a group made up of NBA and WNBA players, coaches, celebrities from the worlds of film and music, and the parents, spouses and families of players and coaches.

"A major goal of Read to Achieve is to promote the value of reading and stress the importance to young people how critical reading is to future success," Rashad said in a statement. "But we also want kids to see that reading is fun, and through this incredible hour of entertainment with today's hottest celebrities, and NBA and WNBA stars, the Read to Achieve Celebration serves as a great avenue to deliver that message."

"I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" is the second single from Spears' late 2001 Jive release "Britney," and will be featured in "Crossroads," the artist's debut film. In November, "Britney" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, while first single "I'm a Slave 4 U" peaked last month at No. 27 on The Billboard Hot 100.

As previously reported, "Crossroads" co-stars Zoe Saldana ("Get Over It") and Taryn Manning ("crazy/beautiful") as friends of Spears' character, as well as Dan Aykroyd and Kim Cattrall as her parents. The coming-of-age film is set to open Feb. 15 in U.S. theaters.

Spears will also perform "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" Wednesday (Jan. 9) during the American Music Awards, which will be broadcast on ABC. That same night, she can be seen dueting with Michael Jackson on the latter's "The Way You Make Me Feel" as part of CBS' rebroadcast of Jackson's "30th Anniversary Celebration."
