Immediately following the completion of its as-yet-untitled fourth Interscope/Geffen album, Weezer will return to the road in North America to headline the Hyper Extended Midget tour. Ozma and Saves The Day will also appear on the dates, which begin Feb. 5 in Charlotte, N.C., and are scheduled to run through Feb. 22 in Raleigh, N.C. The first portion of the Extended Midget tour featured Tenacious D and Jimmy Eat World and wrapped last month.
According to the band's official Web site, Weezer's new album will be finished within the next couple of weeks and will be turned in to the label at the beginning of February. A late April release date is planned.
As previously reported, Weezer will join the Offspring and No Doubt for a Feb. 26 show in Long Beach, Calif., as part of a series of high-profile concerts to benefit the Recording Artists Coalition's (RAC) artists rights activities. The group has set aside March for touring Europe, with stints in Portugal, Spain, and the U.K. in the works. In May, the group will hit Japan for an 11-date stretch.
