Veteran punk act Bad Religion, Boston ska band Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and snotty pop-punkers NOFX will headline this year's edition of the Vans Warped Tour, tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-June and wrap Aug. 18 in Pontiac, Mich. All three acts have played the Warped circuit before, and will be joined on the trek by such groups as New Found Glory, Flogging Molly, and No Use For A Name, among others.
Although no official announcement has been made, a Warped Tour spokesperson confirms that the lineup is set, and will also include Reel Big Fish, Something Corporate, Ozma, Good Charlotte, Lagwagon, the Casualties, and MxPx. This year's tour will be produced by founder/organizer Kevin Lyman, Vans, Creative Artists Agency, and law firm Codikow & Carroll. Vans recently purchased back Yahoo!-owned Launch Media's 70% stake in the punk fest.
A full list of participating artists and athletes will be released as soon as dates are confirmed. Though the Warped Tour is coming off one of its most successful years, thanks to appearances from Rancid, Blink-182 and Pennywise, this summer it willl face stiff competition if the planned return of Lollapalooza comes to fruition.
In addition, Vagrant Records' burgeoning Vagrant Across America tour is rumored to be growing to two stages while featuring a number of acts that overlap with the Warped Tour's audience. However, Vagrant's up-and-coming punk group Alkaline Trio is currently confirmed to appear on the Warped Tour.
