California-based modern rock act Lit will join Kid Rock's North American tour for six shows beginning March 1 in Savannah, Ga. As previously reported, comedy rock duo Tenacious D has also signed on to open a handful of shows on the tour.
Lit, which recently wrapped up a European tour, will also perform for an Olympic-sized crowd this weekend in Park City, Utah. The group has been tapped to perform slopeside at Sunday's (Feb. 10) snowboarding competition at the Park City Mountain Resort, about 30 minutes outside downtown Salt Lake City, which is hosting the games. More than 20,000 spectators are expected to be on hand for the day's events. The band will return to Utah Feb. 21 to perform in Salt Lake City's Mountain Dew Ice Village.
Between the Olympic performance and the Kid Rock tour, Lit will perform at radio station-sponsored concerts in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Fla., and Denver. The band is out in support of its latest album, "Atomic" (Dirty Martini/RCA), which debuted last November at No. 36 on The Billboard 200. The set has so far spawned two hits on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart: "Lipstick & Bruises" (No. 10) and "Addicted" (No. 23)
