Tickets for a handful of dates on the Cranberries' upcoming North American tour went on sale today through the band's official Web site. A May 16 show in Wallingford, Conn., is the only exception, with those tickets made available through Tickets.com.
Seven shows, beginning May 10 in Montreal, have been confirmed; details of an additional North and Central American shows are expected. Tickets remaining after the Cranberries' site pre-sale will go on sale to the public on various dates via Ticketmaster. Consult the TM Web site for more information.
The tour -- the European leg of which kicked off last month -- comes in support of the Irish band's fifth album, "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee" (MCA). The set debuted last November at No. 46 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 129,000 copies in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan.
First single "Analyse" peaked at No. 26 on Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart. The band is in Paris this week to shoot a video for the next single, "This Is the Day." The clip will be directed by Oliver Dahan, who handled the same chores for several of the band's past videos, including "Salvation."
Universal is prepping all four of the band's past albums -- "Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We?," "No Need To Argue," "To the Faithful Departed," and "Bury the Hatchet" -- for reissue later this year. Each of the albums will be expanded with bonus material, and will also be packaged together as a boxed set, dubbed "The Cranberries Treasure Box." According to the band's site, the full set will feature a total of 22 bonus tracks.
