A Los Angeles woman has filed a civil suit against Celine Dion's husband, accusing him of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel two years ago. Yun Kyeong Sung Kwon wants to overturn a settlement reached with Rene Angelil in June 2000. She says that the agreement was made under mental duress and the conditions they agreed upon have not been met.

Kwon's suit says Angelil met Kwon in a casino, followed her, fondled her on an elevator, and raped her in her hotel room. The suit says Kwon reported the attack to hotel security guards. Las Vegas police say no such incident was reported to them.

Angelil's lawyers say the suit is ridiculous and the allegations are false. They also say the allegations are different from the ones Kwon made two years ago. His lawyers say Angelil settled the suit at that time because he was battling throat cancer and Dion had just become pregnant.

"A New Day Has Come," Dion's first Epic album since she went on hiatus in late 1999, was released today (March 26) in North America. The title track is No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart this week.
