A galaxy of music stars, including Nelly Furtado, Perry Farrell, Ice Cube, and Tricky, have lent their vocal talents to DJ Paul Oakenfold's next album, the relentlessly upbeat "Bunkka." The 11-track set, due June 18 on Perfecto/Maverick simply under the name Oakenfold, is the artist's first completely solo album after years of highly successful mix compilations. His soundtrack to the 2001 film "Swordfish," which featured his own tracks alongside remixes and songs by others, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart last June.

The new album's first single is "Ready Steady Go," with vocals by So Solid Crew's Asher D. Album track "Southern Sun" debuted on U.K. DJ Pete Tong's "Essential Selection" show on BBC radio and at Oakenfold's Winter Music Conference sets this week in Miami. The track can be streamed on Oakenfold's official Web site, which promises "various mixes of the album before release."

Furtado and Tricky guest on album closer "The Harder They Come," while Farrell sings on "Time of Your Life." Ice Cube chimes in on "Get Em Up," followed by former Grant Lee Buffalo frontman Grant Lee Philips on "Motion." Crazy Town's Shifty Shellshock, author Hunter S. Thompson, and vocalists Emiliana Torrini, Carla Werner, and Tiff Lacey also make appearances on "Bunkka."

Oakenfold only has a handful of U.S. tour dates lined up, several of which will also feature the Chemical Brothers and Sasha and Digweed. The artist will also make a previously announced April 28 appearance the third Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.
