U.K. singer/songwriter Beth Orton has set a July 30 release date for her upcoming Heavenly/Astralwerks album, "Daybreaker." It's the follow-up to 1999's "Central Reservation" (Arista), which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 246,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan. The album will be previewed on a 17-date North American tour, which kicks off May 20 in Vancouver and wraps June 15 in Washington, D.C.

The trek includes a May 25 stop at the Mountain Aire Festival in Angels Camp, Calif. Trey Anastasio, John Prine, Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, and Ween are among the acts that will also perform that day; Elvis Costello, Cornershop, Galactic, and Anastasio are on tap for the following day.

As previously reported, "Daybreaker" finds Orton collaborating with a host of notable acts, including Ryan Adams, Emmylou Harris, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, and the Chemical Brothers. Orton can be heard singing on "The State We're In," from the latter's new Astralwerks album, "Come With Us."
