A list of tentative song titles for the follow up to 2000's widely acclaimed "Parachutes," due in July or August via Parlophone, has also been revealed.
"A Rush of Blood to the Head" is likely to include such songs as "In My Place," "The Scientist," "Daylight," and "A Whisper." Further contenders include "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face," "Amsterdam," "Politik," "Warning Sign," and the title track. "There's also a new one on the way which hasn't got a title yet," the post says.
"Parachutes" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 1.2 million copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan. Stateside sales of the album were propelled by the multi-format smash single "Yellow," which dented eight different Billboard singles charts, peaking at No. 6 on the Modern Rock Tracks tally.
As previously reported, Coldplay will perform at London's Festival Hall on June 22, as part of the David Bowie-curated Meltdown festival. The band has also confirmed an appearance at the U.K.'s three-day Glastonbury festival, which returns following a hiatus in 2001. Coldplay is set to perform on June 28 (the first day of the event), although complete lineup details are still being finalized. Further European and North American dates are in the works.
