The winner of a songwriting contest launching today (April 29) will hear their song recorded by the King of Pop. AOL Music's Michael Jackson Songwriting Contest will produce a song that Jackson will record and release, with all proceeds tabbed to benefit children's charities around the world.

Launched in cooperation with Tonos, the contest will give AOL members the chance to co-write a song with Jackson, noted producer David Foster, and songwriter Carole Bayer Sager. Runners-up will receive a membership to tonosPRO, a service that helps musicians improve skills and connect with a global network of musicians, songwriters, and producers.

"[The contest] will help us discover a new generation of aspiring songwriters," Tonos co-founder Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds said in a statement. Sager, Foster, and Edmonds founded the company in 1989. More information on the contest can be found at AOL keyword: Michael Jackson and keyword: Tonos.

AOL Music's alliance with Tonos will also give AOL members access to a wealth of powerful music-industry related searches, including record label, radio stations, and artists seeking new material to record.
