As first tipped here in March, the Dave Matthews Band has re-recorded a host of tunes originally put to tape in 2000 with producer Steve Lillywhite. They'll be featured on "Busted Stuff," which RCA has bumped to July 16 from its original July 2 release date. "You Never Know" and first single "Where Are You Going" are the lone cuts that did not originate from the notorious "Lillywhite Sessions," which were widely circulated on the Internet despite never being officially released.
"Where Are You Going," a ballad which Matthews debuted last fall during a series of solo performances, will also appear on the RCA soundtrack to the Adam Sandler film "Mr. Deeds," due June 11. The single is due May 15 for airplay consideration on U.S. radio stations, and a video was recently shot in New York by director Chuck McBride.
The only album tracks that have yet to be played live on DMB's current tour are "Captain" and "Kit Kat Jam," according to noted fan site Nancies.org. The band is in the midst of a 50-date North American trek that hits the Woodlands, Texas, tomorrow (May 4).
Fans can pre-order "Busted Stuff" from the band's official online store. Those who order before July 11 will be eligible to win autographed memorabilia plus airfare and tickets to an Aug. 31 show in East Troy, Wis.
Here is the tracklist for "Busted Stuff":
"Where Are You Going"
"You Never Know"
"Grace Is Gone"
"Kit Kat Jam"
