The soundtrack to "ESPN's Ultimate X: The Movie" is filled with appropriately explosive music. Due May 14 via Hollywood Records, the set features previously released tracks from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Tricky, Guided By Voices, Pennywise, and Suicide Machines, to accompany footage of such extreme sports as skateboarding, biking, moto X, and street luge on enormous IMAX theater screens.

The collection opens and closes with tracks from Hollywood rap/rock act 3rd Strike -- "No Light," from the band's 2001 self-titled EP, and a cover of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid," originally released on last year's "Lost Angel." Also included is Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" (a No. 2 hit on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart), Moby's "Whispering Wind," and OPM's "Heaven Is a Halfpipe."

The film chronicles the action and behind-the-scenes stories of the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia. Directed by Bruce Hendricks (executive producer/second assistant director of "Pearl Harbor"), "Ultimate X" opens Friday (May 10) in U.S. IMAX and large screen theaters. Several of the athletes are expected for tonight's premiere at the Universal CityWalk IMAX Theatre in Los Angeles. Also tipped to be on hand are Pink, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, Jack Osbourne of "The Osbournes," and members of 3rd Strike.

For more information on the Touchstone Pictures film (including still pictures and streaming video) and extreme sports athletes, as well as a free download of Third Strike's "No Light," visit the film's official Web site.
