R&B star R. Kelly is expected to discuss the sex scandal dogging him an interview set to air at 11:30 p.m. ET tonight (May 8) on BET. It's not clear how forthcoming the 33-year-old singer will be with interviewer Ed Gordon about accusations he had sex with underage girls, which are both the subject of an investigation by Chicago authorities and three civil lawsuits.

Kelly's lawyers have settled two civil suits but said they will fight a third filed in April. The investigation in Chicago began when the Chicago Sun-Times turned over to police a video that allegedly showed Kelly involved in sex acts with an underage girl. The tape has made the rounds on the Internet.

Kelly's lawyers have denied that the singer is the man on the videotape. No charges have been filed, and Chicago authorities said recently they haven't determined the veracity of the tape the Chicago Sun-Times received.

Kelly has been quiet about the allegations, but he told a Chicago TV station during the Winter Olympics that they were an attempt to ruin his career.
