Oasis has announced details of a North American tour in support of its forthcoming fifth studio album, "Heathen Chemistry," due July 2 via Epic. Dates begin Aug. 2 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and are currently booked through Aug. 21 in Detroit. They follow an extensive, largely sold-out European tour that begins June 17 in Lyon, France, and wraps with a July 26-27 stand in Rome.

The 11-track, 43-minute "Heathen Chemistry" is led by the chart-topping U.K. single "The Hindu Times," which is already getting early airplay on such U.S. radio outlets as WZZN Chicago, CIMX Detroit, and KFSD San Diego.

The tracklist is rounded out by "Force of Nature," "Hung in a Bad Place," "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," "Songbird," "Little by Little," "A Quick Peep," "Probably All in the Mind," "She Is Love," "Born on a Different Cloud," and "Better Man." The set sports a more varied songwriting palette than ever before, with contributions from guitarist Gem Archer ("Hung in a Bad Place") and lead singer Liam Gallagher ("Songbird," "Better Man," "Born on a Different Cloud").

Following the North American dates, Oasis has confirmed a Sept. 14 appearance in its Manchester, England, hometown at the 50,000-capacity Lancashire County Cricket Club. Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will open the show.
