Alejandro Sanz won three awards at Spain's sixth Premios de la Musica ceremony Friday in Madrid, Billboard Bulletin reports. Maria del Mar Bonet and Estrella Morente won two each. Sanz, who was not present, won for best song ("Y Solo Se Me Ocurre Amarte"), best video ("El Alma al Aire"), and best album ("MTV Unplugged").

Bonet won for best traditional folk album and best album in Catalan ("Raixa"); Morente took best new artist and best flamenco album ("Mi Cante y un Poema").

The event -- shown live by public TV network La 2 -- was organized for the first time by the Academy of Music Arts and Sciences, created in February by authors' and publishers' society SGAE and artists' association AIE. Voting was by 5,000 SGAE and AIE members and 300 other industry experts.
