Nickelback and its lead singer Chad Kroeger scored a total of 12 nominations for the 13th annual MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVAs), announced today (May 13) in Toronto. The Canadian rock group is nominated for eight awards, including best video, best rock video, and the People's Choice award for the former Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "How You Remind Me." Kroeger's contribution to the "Spider-Man" soundtrack, "Hero," is also up for best video.

Other leading nominees include rap group Swollen Members with six, David Usher with five, and Sum 41 and Default with four nominations each. Nominees for favorite international arist include Blink 182, Creed, Linkin Park, U2, and 'N Sync with Nelly.
