Weezer has drafted Dashboard Confessional and Sparta for its summer Enlightenment Tour, tentatively due to kick off July 6 in Salt Lake City. The Strokes are confirmed to jump aboard for "a still to be determined section" of the trek, according to Weezer's official Web site. The tour is scheduled to wrap Aug. 10 in San Diego, and the site promises "some additional suprises" throughout.

Weezer will be touring in support of its latest Interscope album, "Maladroit," which debuted last week at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 on sales of 152,000 units, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The band concludes a Japanese tour tonight (May 27) in Tokyo.

Dashboard Confessional, led by singer/songwriter Chris Carrabba, will be out behind its Vagrant album "The Places You Have Come To Fear the Most," which is No. 3 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart this week. As previously reported, Carrabba will appear on MTV's "Unplugged" on June 16.

Sparta, which features former members of Texas-based rock act At The Drive-In, will release its DreamWorks debut, "The Wiretap Scars," on Aug. 13. A four song EP, "Austere," is in stores now.
