With the second season of the "The Osbournes" a few months off, MTV will begin airing its latest unscripted series, "Diary Presents: Brandy - Special Delivery," June 18 at 10:30 p.m. ET. In what promises to be a much tamer, more family-friendly show than the exploits of Ozzy Osbourne and his clan, Brandy will let the network's cameras capture her life as she prepares for the birth of her child.

"It is my hope that MTV viewers will take away a greater appreciation of the responsibilities of a young woman balancing career and family," the artist said in a statement posted on her official Web site.

For the summer months, the series will take the Tuesday night same time slot "The Osbournes" inhabited. An MTV spokesperson says that the new show is open-ended, as the network plans to, at the very least, film through the complete cycle of Brandy's pregnancy. Alternating between her personal life and her entertainment career, fans will get a glimpse of baby showers and doctor visits in addition to recording sessions and photo shoots.

While 23-year-old Brandy is no stranger to television, having starred in five seasons of UPN's "Moesha," the singer will have a tough act to follow. "The Osbournes" scored MTV's highest-rated original programming premiere last March, and, as previously reported, will soon be the subject of a major merchandise blitz. To help fuel Brandy interest, MTV's sister network VH1 will on June 25 begin airing "Driven," a biography special on the artist.

Brandy's most recent Atlantic release "Full Moon" debuted in March at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and is currently No. 32 on the chart. The set has sold 701,000 units in the U.S. to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her single "What About Us?" reached No. 7 on Billboard's Hot 100 earlier this year, while the album's title cut is up three slots to No. 24 on the chart.
