A cross-country road trip by five youths with video cameras is serving as the launch pad for a combination film and star-studded hip-hop compilation, "One Big Trip," due Aug. 13 release on double-sided DVD/CD via Deconstruction Company/Hiero Imperium Records. The 12-song soundtrack features new music from the likes of Del The Funky Homosapien (who contributes the title track), Dan the Automator, Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, Royce Da 5'9", and more.

Produced by Peter Bittenbender and directed/edited by Jason Goldwach, "One Big Trip" is the videotaped record of the pair's road trip with three friends in the winter of 1999-2000. In addition to the primary "One Big Trip" feature, the DVD will include a short film by Goldwach titled "Dust," a UFO documentary dubbed "Relativity," a mock infomercial for the film, and more. The CD/DVD is thought to be the first hip-hop-centric release in the hybrid format.

Del's title cut reached No. 65 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart in May.
