The week-long 2002 Rochester (N.Y.) MusicFest will conclude with a pair of concerts featuring up-and-coming R&B stars Ashanti and Tweet, as well as such established artists as Al Green and the Isley Brothers. The festival, which runs July 14-21 at venues around the city, will boast a series of mostly free concerts daily leading up to the ticketed weekend events.

The first all-day show of the weekend finale on July 20 will boast Green and Ashanti, as well as War, Ivan Neville, KeKe Wyatt, Jimmie Highsmith, and Blu. The following day's event will boast the Isleys, Gerald Levert, Tweet, Jaheim, Shawn Powell, and the SOTA Jazz Ensemble. Tickets are $25 per day, or $40 for a two-day pass and are available from Ticket Express (100 East Ave.) and Ticketmaster.

Other artists who will perform free shows throughout the week include contemporary Christian group Mary Mary, rock act the Smithereens, reggae group Third World, and the salsa sounds of the Hector Tricoche Big Band. On July 15, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will present "S'Wonderful," an all Gershwin concert at the Eastman Theatre. Although the event is free, tickets are required and can be obtained at the orchestra's box office or Ticket Express.
