Beck has confirmed a solo acoustic tour of North America, due to kick off Aug. 2 in Seattle. Dates run through Aug. 25 in Scottsdale, Ariz., but more shows are expected to be added in such cities as San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Tickets to select shows go on sale tomorrow morning (July 10) via Beck's official Web site.
The tour comes in advance of Beck's as-yet-untitled new Interscope album, which, as previously reported, is due Sept. 24. The newly redesigned site is currently streaming the mellow, acoustic new song "The Golden Age" and plans to make a new track available each week prior to the album's release.
The set was produced by Nigel Godrich, who previously worked with Beck on 1998's "Mutations" album. Beck has also collaborated with producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura but it is not yet known if those tracks will be featured on the new set. The artist is backed on the album by his long-time live band, including bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, guitarist Smokey Hormel, and multi-instrumentalist Roger Manning Jr., alongside "a plethora of drummers and other surprises."
