Jimmy Eat World, Promise Ring, the (International) Noise Conspiracy, Cave In, Cursive, Le Tigre, and Thursday are among the acts confirmed to appear at various stops on the second Plea For Peace/Take Action tour. The trek begins Sept. 13 in Worcester, Mass., and will run through an Oct. 28 finale in an as-yet-undetermined city. Other acts include Common Rider (featuring Operation Ivy's Jesse Michaels), Anti-Flag, Bouncing Souls, Poison The Well, and Lawrence Arms.

Plea For Peace/Take Action is sponsored by the Sub City and Asian Man labels and the National Hopeline Network (1-800-SUICIDE). 10% of gross door receipts from the tour will be donated to the Hopeline, which "provides free national access to crisis counseling through a computer network that routes calls automatically to the closest participating suicide prevention center," according to organizers.

Last year's inaugural Plea For Peace/Take Action tour featured Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, Cave In, Thrice, Zero Zero, and Strike Anywhere, among others. A Sub City compilation CD featuring rare tracks from those artists went on to sell 60,000 copies, according to the label.

A new compilation, due Aug. 20 from Sub City, will sport songs from Anti-Flag, Common Rider, Snapcase, Cave In, and Piebald, among others. The disc will be enhanced with suicide prevention and depression screening content.
