Rodney Jerkins' Darkchild Entertainment, home to the Darkchild Records label, has entered into a production and distribution deal with Cash Money Records, Billboard Bulletin reports. Under the three-year agreement, Cash Money will distribute, co-promote, and market Darkchild material. Among the venture's initial projects will be an album by New York rapper Fats, "Finally.A.True.Story," featuring collaborations with Brandy, Michael Jackson, and Cash Money artists.

In the first year of the venture, Cash Money co-CEO Ronald Williams and Jerkins expect to collaborate on 3-5 titles, to be released under the Darkchild/Cash Money/Universal banner.

Cash Money, whose other principals include co-CEO Bryan "Baby" Williams (Ronald's brother) and business manager Vernon Brown, entered a joint-venture with Universal in 1998. Its catalog includes releases by Juvenile, Hot Boys, Lil' Wayne, and Big Tymers. Jerkins, whose label was previously affiliated with Epic, is the production mastermind behind hits by Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Aaliyah, and others.
