Macy Gray Premieres First Song 'Annabelle' Off Upcoming Album
Today, Macy Gray released "Annabelle," the first of three original songs off her upcoming album Stripped. The song saunters in with some seductive guitar licks and showcases Gray's signature rasp as she croons the titular name.
"'Annabelle' is one of my favorite songs on the album," Gray says. "It speaks to all the suffering you go through when you're trying to quit a habit. At the same time the mood of the song inspires a craving for a big fat joint."
The song introduces us to Stripped, an album that is reintroducing us to Gray. Her ninth studio album will feature reimagined songs from her discography including "I Try," “Sweet Baby," "Slowly," and "The First Time," along with covers of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song,” and Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.”
