Canadian chanteuse Celine Dion is developing her own scent with Coty Inc., which also produces Jovan and Stetson fragrances. It's expected in stores in early 2003. "I wanted to partner with a beauty company that would develop a product in a line with my values," Dion said.

"Like creating music," she added, "it is important that beauty products appeal to both one's senses and emotions." But don't expect a "Celine" brand -- a designer already has fragrances under that name.

Dion joins a list of celebrities who have marketed their own scents. Jennifer Lopez, for one, recently introduced her own perfume, called Glow. Elizabeth Taylor, Isabella Rossellini, Naomi Campbell, and Michael Jordan are among others who have entered the perfumery business.

The title track of the artist's latest Epic album, "A New Day Has Come," is in its 19th week at No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. The cut will set a new chart record for weeks at the top if it holds at No. 1 this week.
