The smooth soul artist racked up 19% of 5154 votes cast, easily outdistancing the artists in second and third place -- Monica and Keith Sweat.

Monica, whose "All Eyez on Me" (J) is due Aug. 20, grabbed 14%, while Sweat, whose "Rebirth" (Elektra) is due a week earlier, netted 13% of the tally. Next up was rapper DMX, who pulled in 11%, followed by newcomer India.Arie, with 9%. Rappers Foxy Brown and Snoop Dogg each netted 8% of the votes, followed by Erykah Badu (6%), Brian McKnight (5%), LL Cool J (4%), and Xzibit (3%).
