Beck is in the midst of an acoustic tour of North America, but he's planning to have some star-studded company with him on the road come October. The Flaming Lips will not only serve as Beck's backing band for a fall tour, but will also play its own set beforehand, according to the band's official Web site. The itinerary for these shows has not yet been unveiled.

Beck will be out in support of his upcoming largely acoustic Interscope album, "Sea Change," due Sept. 24. As previously reported, Beck's official Web site is streaming one track from the set each week up through its release.

The 12-track "Sea Change" features a number of songs Beck has unveiled during various shows this year, as well as a new version of "It's All in Your Mind." The latter cut was previously released as a single in the mid-'90s and on the 1997 compilation album "Bridge School Concerts Vol. 1."

As for the Lips, they are presently touring as part of the Unlimited Sunshine tour with Modest Mouse, Cake, De La Soul, and Kinky. The group's latest Warner Bros. album, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots," debuted earlier this month at a career-best No. 50 on The Billboard 200.
