"We're a Happy Family -- A Tribute to the Ramones," the long-incubating Ramones tribute album spearheaded by Rob Zombie, now has a definitive track list and a tentative Nov. 5 release date from DV8/Columbia, according to a post on Zombie's official Web site. The new track list features contributions from Pete Yorn, the Pretenders, and unsigned act Rooney in place of previously tipped possible covers by Static X and Motorhead.

Metallica, which had recorded four songs for the compilation and couldn't decide which to turn in, has apparently decided on "53rd and 3rd," one of the trademark songs of late bassist Dee Dee Ramone.

The album, which is being co-produced by Zombie and guitarist Johnny Ramone, also features contributions from Tom Waits ("The Return of Jackie and Judy"), the Pretenders ("Something To Believe In"), U2 ("Beat on the Brat"), Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Havana Affair"), Garbage ("I Just Want To Have Something To Do"), the Offspring ("I Wanna Be Sedated"), Rancid ("Sheena Is a Punk Rocker"), Green Day ("Outsider"), and Marilyn Manson ("The KKK Took My Baby Away").

Kiss takes on "Do You Remember Rock'n'Roll Radio?," while Yorn covers "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," Rooney contributes "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow," and Zombie himself turns in a version of "Blitzkreig Bop." Eddie Vedder recorded two songs in collaboration with Seattle band Zeke, "I Believe in Miracles" and "Daytime Dilemma (Dangers of Love)," the latter of which will only appear as a limited-edition bonus track with initial pressings of the album. Proceeds from sales of "We're a Happy Family" will be donated to charities in the name of Dee Dee and the late Joey Ramone.

Meanwhile, the Ramones' oeuvre continues to be remastered and rereleased by Rhino, with four more albums released yesterday (Aug. 20) in updated forms.
