Dancehall star Beenie Man is gearing up for an October North American tour in support of his second Virgin album "Tropical Storm." The run will kick off Oct. 1 in Providence, R.I., and currently has 23 dates scheduled through an Oct. 30 performance in San Francisco. More dates are expected in November, as the tour expands on the West Coast.

"Tropical Storm" is No. 30 on The Billboard 200 in its third week on the chart. Lead track "Feel It Boy" featuring Janet Jackson reached No. 28 on Billboard's Hot 100 earlier this month. The album also features guest appearances by Lil' Kim, DJ Clue, and Sean Paul.

Beenie Man firmly believes that "Tropical Storm" will be the biggest album of his career and that it will help him conquer the U.S. airwaves. "The pop stations are the stations that broke reggae in America," he recently told Billboard. "The pop stations played Bob Marley. It's just a foundation genre. They love the genre of music, and if they get one that they love, they play it. This time, we're just going forward because you have Janet Jackson, who is already pop, and I'm a dancehall superstar."
