Janet Jackson will record a new song for the "Chicago" movie soundtrack, Billboard Bulletin reports. The track, which is still untitled, is expected to be the soundtrack's first single. The album is tentatively due Nov. 26 via Epic. The film, an adaptation version of the hit musical, is due Dec. 25 in U.S. theaters.

Miramax president of motion picture music Randy Spendlove tells Bulletin, "Janet Jackson was a perfect choice for this soundtrack because this is a dance-oriented movie. The song will reflect the spirit of the film."

"Chicago" stars Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere, who do their own singing in the movie and will be featured on the soundtrack. Queen Latifah and Mya also have supporting roles in the film.

Jackson is currently on the charts as a guest artist on Beenie Man's "Feel It Boy," which is No. 21 on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks tally and No. 46 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. She also appears on the track "Take Me Now" on Justin Timberlake's solo debut, "Justified," due Nov. 5 from Jive.
