Tentatively titled "Stages," the book will feature pictures of the artist "captured in private moments with her family and friends." Spears turns 21 on Dec. 2.
The book will also show Spears on stage and behind the scenes of her recently completed Dream Within a Dream tour. The DVD, meanwhile, will feature footage from the tour, including the July 28 tour closing performance in Mexico City that was cut short due to violent rain. The home video is being put together by filmmaker Albert Maysles ("Monterey Pop," "The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit").
"I wanted to share with my fans all the things that they never get to see that make it all so special for me," Spears writes on the site. "It's my way of saying thank you."
In other news, Spears will be honored with the Children's Choice Award from the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund for her work with the Britney Spears Foundation. The award will be presented during the organization's annual Bogart Tour for a Cure event, set for Nov. 4 at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheater.
The Britney Spears Foundation was created to help children through the Britney Spears Camp for the Performing Arts, which has been operating annually for three years. The organization also "creates fun-filled sanctuaries" for sick children enduring extended hospital stays. The first was established at Chicago's Shriner's Hospital.
Part of the T.J. Martell Foundation, the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund established research laboratories at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The organization's labs work in the fields of developmental therapeutics, pediatric AIDS, and cellular and molecular biology, along with its established biology research support and tumor suppressor gene programs.
