Grimes surprised fans on Wednesday night when she abruptly walked off the stage at the Barclays Center mid-song following an unexplained incident earlier in the day that apparently rattled her nerves. During the second night of a gig opening for Florence + the Machine, the singer/producer quit the set about two-thirds through during the song "World Princess II," telling the crowd, "we just had a really disturbing thing happen to us today, so sorry if my voice is shaking, it's been kind of a f---ed day... I apologize, I'm having a lot of trouble keeping it together today, right now," according to video posted by a fan.

The singer tweeted about the incident on Thursday night, writing that she would explain what happened at Barclays "once I can safely and legally do so."

In a follow-up tweet, she hit out at anonymous trolls who are "not credible sources" on information about her.
