Watch a Preview of Jamie Lynn Spears' TLC Special
"For the first time, this is the real story," says Jamie Lynn Spears in a trailer for the new TLC documentary Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out. The doc, which will premiere June 26, promises to rehash the tabloid scandal from 2007 when Spears (then a Nickelodeon star and, of course, Britney's little sis) became pregnant by boyfriend Casey Aldridge at the age of 16.
Jamie Lynn's parents even make an appearance in the trailer, with her dad weighing in matter-of-factly to explain that "Jamie Lynn was bad" back then, in between tabloid voice-overs that scream lines like, "Nickelodeon must be furious!" (She was starring on the network's Zoey 101 when she became pregnant and put her career on hold for several years thereafter.)
"I’m not just a child star, and I’m not just someone’s sister, and I’m not just a teen mom," Spears explains in the trailer, despite the "horrible nasty things" that were said about her. Now 25, Spears is enjoying her evolution as a country music singer. She performed at the Grand Ole Opry in March, where, in the promo below, we see Britney giving her a proud sister introduction.
