Bruce Springsteen's stop in Barcelona on Wednesday (Oct. 16) will be seen by millions of viewers via a host of MTV Europe channels. "A Night With Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band" will be broadcast live and commercial free from Palau Sant Jordi, on MTV Euro, MTV Nordic, MTV France, MTV nl, MTV Italy, MTV Romania, MTV Polska, MTV Spain, MTV Germany, MTV UK, and VH-1 UK. The concert will potentially reach an estimated 127 million households.

"This exclusive performance commands proper treatment," MTV Networks Europe Sr. VP Talent & Music Harriett Brand said in a statement. "So we have taken the step of clearing MTV Networks Europe and VH-1 UK of all advertising for the duration of the live concert."

On most of the MTV channels, the concert will be preceded by a one-hour backstage broadcast, "Countdown to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band."

Springsteen is continuing the "barnstorming" portion of his 2002-2003 world tour, which opened in August in East Rutherford, N.J. A seven-date European leg kicks off tonight in Paris, and will close Oct. 27 in London. The tour will return to North America Nov. 3 in Dallas and run through a Dec. 13 Albany stop. Another round of international touring is expected early in the new year.

The tour comes in support of Springsteen's latest Columbia album, "The Rising." The album opened with two weeks at the top of The Billboard 200, and is now No. 29 in its 10th week on the chart.
