Producer/artist Daniel Lanois will give the keynote address during the next edition of annual music-industry festival South By Southwest, which will be held March 12-16 in Austin, Texas. The festival will feature performances, panel conferences, music industry workshops, and the speech by Lanois, whose third solo album is due in January on Anti Records.

Some of the artists scheduled to perform during the week include a reunited Camper Van Beethoven, CeDell Davis, John Doe, Grandaddy, Willie Nelson, Joe Jackson, Idlewild, Billie Joe Shaver, Keller Williams, Lucinda Williams, Turin Brakes, 16 Horsepower, David Cross, and Lee Ann Womack.

Among the topics of conference panels set for the festival are "Label Heads Sound Off," "Comparing Audio Formats," "When Should You Sign With A Major?," "Latin Music and the Media," and "Be My Guest: Music on Television."
