1998 - The arrest of Sacramento, Calif.-based rapper C-BO on charges that his song lyrics violate the terms of his parole by encouraging violence toward police officers sets a new precedent in the debate over potentially offensive lyrics. The artist, whose real name is Shawn Thomas, is arrested and held without bail following the release of his album "Til' My Casket Drops."
