Mariah Carey will perform her single "Through the Rain" and Missy Elliot will offer a rendition of her hit "Work It" during next week's American Music Awards (AMA) ceremony. Set for Monday (Jan. 13), the show will also feature Bobby Brown joining newly announced performer Ja Rule on a version of "Thug Lovin'."

They join an already impressive performance slate for the 30th annual event, which will feature Christina Aguilera, B2K, Kenny Chesney, Elton John, Tim McGraw, matchbox twenty, Nickelback, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, and Kelly Osbourne. Hosted by the Osbournes -- Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack -- the AMAs will be broadcast live on ABC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Vanessa Carlton and Beyonce & Solange Knowles are among those newly tapped to present awards. Others who will hand out trophies are Steve Harvey, Marques Houston, Outkast, Busta Rhymes, LeAnn Rimes, and Britney Spears.

As previously reported, Ashanti leads the AMA list with nominations in five categories, followed closely by Eminem and Nelly, who each garnered four. In addition, Ashanti, Creed, the Dixie Chicks, Eminem, Enrique Iglesias, and Nelly are up for the AMA fans' choice award, voting for which is open at americanmusicawards.com and abc.com, through the day of the show.
