The video for Bob Dylan's "Cross the Green Mountain" will debut Sunday (Jan. 26) on TNT between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Composed especially for the upcoming Civil War film "Gods and Generals," the song was premiered last week as part of AOL Music's First Listen program, and will be featured on the forthcoming Sony Classical soundtrack to the film, due Feb. 4. The movie, starring Robert Duvall, Jeff Daniels, and Mira Sorvino, opens Feb. 21 in U.S. theaters.
To hype the film, a Warner Bros./Ted Turner Pictures production, TNT will be airing a "Civil War" marathon this weekend. The Dylan video will be screened during a break in the showing of "Gettysburg." Additionally, TNT will also screen a video for Mary Fahl's "Going Home," also featured on the soundtrack. Fahl's song will air between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m., near the conclusion of "Gone With the Wind."
Both videos will be included on a bonus disc with the soundtrack. According to an AOL spokesperson, Dylan's track received more than 3,000 streams in its first 24 hours of availability. "Gods and Monsters" was scored by John Frizzell ("Ghost Ship) and Randy Edelman ("Shanghai Knights"). The film is a prequel to "Gettysburg."
